9:30am – 1:30pmAs we near the end of this year, we were surprised to realize that almost half of all Principal roles booked were auditioned as “Non-Speaking” roles.And just because a role is labeled as “Non-Speaking,” it does not mean it is “Non-Acting,” and it surely doesn’t always mean you don’t speak.Yes, sometimes the “Non-Speaking” auditions are some of the most difficult, nuanced and complicated auditions that an actor can have.

This Saturday Master Class will work on actual “Non-Speaking” auditions held at C&J Casting over this past year. We will discuss tips and techniques on how to master the Art of “Non-Speaking” auditions.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:PAIGE JOHNSTON THOMAS

Paige Johnston Thomas is currently co-owner and Casting Director at C&J Casting. She received her Masters in Acting at UNC-Chapel Hill and performed as an actor for many years. She has been teaching auditioning workshops for over 10 years, and has taught hundreds of students the skills she has learned from working behind the camera. She is also a theatre director and has directed shows at Carolina Actors Studio Theatre and Theatre Charlotte (upcoming production of “The Foreigner” opening in January, 2012)
