Bio for Heidi Cline McKerley
Heidi has been a part of the Atlanta theatre community for twenty-four years and has been a teacher for
twenty-six years. She has taught for the Alliance Theatre School, Actor’s Express, the Shakespeare
Tavern, Berrry College, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Perimeter College, Florida State University,
St. Martin’s Episcopal School, and has conducted workshops for the University of Georgia, Emory
University, Georgia Independent School Association, and the Southern Order of Storytellers as well as
teaching privately. As an actress and director, Heidi has worked with the Alliance Theatre, Theatrical
Outfit, the Horizon Theatre, Georgia Shakespeare, the Shakespeare Tavern, Atlanta Lyric Theatre, 7
Stages, Actor’s Express, Theatre Gael, Dad’s Garage, Play Ground Theatre Company, Soul-stice
Repertory, Gainesville Theatre Alliance, Theatre in the Square, Jewish Theatre of the South, the national
One-Minute Play Festival, and the Aurora Theatre. Heidi has been nominated for the Suzi Bass Award,
Atlanta’s version of the Tony Awards, seven times, and won last year for Best Direction of a Musical for
“Avenue Q”. Regionally, she has worked with the Hippodrome State Theatre and Oasis Theatre in Florida,
The Lagrange Lyric Theatre, and the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. Heidi was the co-founder and
producing artistic director of Soul-stice Repertory Ensemble for nine years, producing over 30 classics at 7
Stages. She is a member of the National Storytelling Network, Southern Order of Storytellers, Educational
Theatre Association of America, and the American Association for Theatre in Education; as well as serving
as the producing artistic director of St. Martin’s World Storytelling Celebration, now in it’s 6th year.
