Laughing Skull Comedy Festival (March 3-7 in Atlanta)

If you haven’t heard about it yet, in its first year, the festival is already one of the most popular comedy festivals in the world. Almost 600 comedians applied for just 60 spots. Those 60 comedians will compete, and the winner will be given over 6 months worth of live dates from three dozen comedy bookers and agents from around North America. The top ten will all have their tapes watched by more than 70 bookers, and all finalists also win a cash prize.

There is a TREMENDOUS amount of talent to scout, as well as a lot of networking to be done.

Some other notable highlights:
-Judges are Jeff Singer (Motreal Comedy Festival), Josh Liberman (3 Arts), & TJ Markwalter (Gersh Agency) -Other attendees include Eddie Brill (Booker for Late Night with David Letterman), Ann Harris & JoAnn Grigioni from Comedy Central’s talent department, Samantha Lee from TruTV’s development department, and several bookers and agents.
-Lenny Bruce’s daughter, Kitty Bruce, will be there live. Proceeds from ticket sales will be benefitting the Lenny Bruce Foundation -Board of Directors includes producer/development exec Dan Pasternack, Comedy Zone owner Brian Heffron, and Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) owner Eric Lambert.

Registration includes discounts at area hotels, admission to the invite only events (Like the Welcome Party and the Saturday Picnic), entry into the Thursday night poker tournament (with major prizes), goodie bag, and admission to every show.

Registration is $449, but if you register on or before 3/1, it’s just $249.
