ACTING TECHNIQUE for Film & Television:
Thursdays: 7:00-9:00pm Adults only. Class begins September 6th, 2012-ALL AGES WELCOME
The process of acting is difficult to nail down. By technique we at Studio 11 Films mean any process or method the actor uses to create a work of art, from the smallest action you do while rehearsing, to the most complicated exercise or character study. This process or method becomes YOUR TECHNIQUE. This class will be taught in several parts: introduction to the masters of the craft – Stanislavski, Meisner, Strasberg, Adler and Grotowski; understanding the different techniques; developing your instrument and beginning to create an individualized process/method of acting that works for you. In addition students will continue to exercise acting muscles by exploring the fundamentals of acting for film, television and commercials, slating for the camera, preparing the right monologue for auditions, creating a character as well as improvisation, acting in the moment all while you work out the skills needed to get the part!
