Atlanta ImageArts’ “Focus”

For the sixth consecutive year, ImageArts produced for Friends of Georgia Music Festival the The Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards! This past September marked the 32nd annual presentation, which was held in a new venue –
the beautiful Cobb Energy
Performing Arts Centre.

In addition to the audience in theatre, the live broadcast on Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) brought in close to 2 million viewers! This was the first year that the ImageArts Creative Team also produced and directed
the entire GPB broadcast.

Jody Danneman served as the Executive Producer for the entire show and wrote/produced/directed the stage.  Bob Briggs produced/directed the broadcast with Harold Simmons as the show’s technical director.

Those inducted included producer/agent Charlie Brusco, pianist Charles Wadsworth, opera singer Jennifer Larmore, R&B artist India.Arie, and multi-platinum rock group the Black Crowes. Additional performances by Styx, Diana Degarmo, Bo Bice, and Ace Young from “American Idol” rounded out another wonderful show!

In October, ImageArts officially added an associate producer to our Creative Team. Shannon Sullivan, a recent graduate from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, comes to us with a rich background in writing, editing, and production coordination.  “Shannon interned with us this summer.  Everyone at ImageArts, our clients, and our partner vendors were so impressed with her abilities that we had to add her to the team,” said ImageArts’ President, Jody Danneman.

Shannon has moved into her new office and is busy working on projects slated for production in 2011. If you call the office…you’ll most likely hear her voice.  So, be sure to tell her ‘hello and welcome’!

Welcome to the brand new, eco-friendly “Focus” newsletter! With this electronic format, we’re going to be able to keep you more updated on the various productions we are working on and save some trees in the process!  2010 has been a busy year, full of new and exciting challenges and opportunities.  In addition to our continued work with Delta Air Lines and NASCAR Images, the ImageArts creative team tackled some unique projects that took the team to twelve states, the District of Columbia,
and several European nations.
These projects are added to our ever expanding portfolio that truly illustrates how we continually offer our clients the very best
in live event, video and web communications.

November marked the beginning of our 14th year of business with a renewed energy! As we look ahead to 2011, we anticipate even more exciting projects as ImageArts continues to grow and thrive.  We are thrilled to have you, our clients and friends who have been with us on this journey, along for the ride!
May each of you have a wonderful holiday season and a very healthy, prosperous 2011!

Last month, The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication held their annual induction ceremony for their distinguished alumni award, the Grady Fellow. The Grady Fellowship recognizes and honors those “whose lives and careers have contributed measurably to the national reputation the college enjoys,” said Grady College Dean E. Culpepper Clark.  The Gala was held on the University of Georgia Campus, and once again, ImageArts was tapped to produce
the live event along with the video segments,
which were part of the evening’s festivities.

The evening also was the kick-off for the 70th anniversary of the prestigious Peabody Awards.  The Peabody director, Dr. Horace Newcomb, moderated a special panel of former Peabody Awards Board members who discussed the importance of the award in electronic media and the intricate process used to select winners each year.

ImageArts produced a special video for the occasion that showcased behind-the-scenes interviews from the past decade of Peabody winners.

2011 marks the thirteenth Peabody Awards presentation that ImageArts has produced at New York’s Waldorf=Astoria.  The ImageArts Creative Team is very excited and honored to be a part of the production that celebrates the very best in electronic media, particularly in such a landmark year!
