KIDS & TEENS SUMMER SESSION
Kids meet every Saturday from 10am-Noon, and Teens from 1-3pm. Classes are divided into 3 40-minute segments, covering on-camera, theatre, and improv (performing without a script). The cost is $120/month and classes run year-round in 4-month sessions. Each session introduces new material and builds on what each individual has learned in order to take them to the next level as they grow and progress. Our SUMMER 4-month session began Saturday, May 2nd, and continues through Saturday, August 29th. We will be CLOSED May 23rd for Memorial Day weekend, and July 4th for Independence Day. We will be accepting new students for this session through June 27th.
On the final class August 29th, we will have an agent from one of Atlanta’s top agencies visit the studios to observe and give feedback to the students on their acting. The parents also join us in the theatre as the students perform scenes live onstage, show what they have learned in improv, and we watch their on-camera work projected on the widescreen. It’s really exciting!
Want to get started? Students begin with Intro to On-Camera Acting, scheduled with one of our instructors as a one-hour private session. Cost for the Intro is $60 one time only. Working one-on-one with your child or teen, the instructor prepares them with the fundamentals of camera technique, how to understand a script, and terms they need to know in order to join the ongoing class the following Saturday. For complete info, visit www.youract.tv and click on Kids & Teens Classes.
Call 404-499-9996 to check availability, or to schedule an appointment for the Intro.
SketchTeens!
Summer Performance Group for Young People Disney Channel and Nickelodeon have never been hotter! And they always seem to want two things: 1) teen actors…and 2) teen actors who are great at comedy. No matter what kind of acting you eventually want to do, it’s always a great idea to flex those diverse creative muscles by getting comfortable with sketch comedy…and nobody does it better than Atlanta’s premier sketch comedy troupe, Sketchworks! Are you a teen yourself? Are you a teen who knows teens who want to take sketch comedy classes? Do U TXT them things to make them ROTFL? Have you graduated from teeter-tottering to Twittering? Are you sick of people asking you questions?
Then sign up right away for Sketchworks’ Summer Program, the SketchTeens Class and Showcase for ages 13 to 18. Runs June 16 thru July 19. You’ll learn how to create, develop and perform all kinds of characters and situations just like they do on SNL, MadTV, Nick, DisneyChannel, etc. Find the funny in every script, put a show up on its feet, and bask in the glow of a theatre full of laughter! The class is filling and we need boys in particular (which means, guys, that we’ve got lots of girls in the class!), so don’t take too much time. You’re not getting any younger! If you’re a teen, get yourself signed up! If you’re the parent of a teen, find out where they are, then get them to sign up! If you know somebody who’s a teen actor, send ’em on over to our website for all the details. They’ll learn skills they’ll use forever, plus form great new friendships!
