Joe Turner’s Come and Gone

The Players of Georgia State University present Pulitzer Prize winning playwright August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone April 16th-19th, 23rd-26th 2009 at the Alumni Hall Theatre. Performances are Thursdays –Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm, and tickets are $5 for all students (with I.D.) and $10 for general admissions. Second of Wilson’s chronicle The Pittsburgh Cycle and winner of New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play in 1988, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone is a sensitive account of sons and daughters of recently freed slaves and their move to Pittsburgh, PA in search of prosperity, a new way of life, and their own identities in relation to their African roots.
